I paint when I need to process something. When an image appears in my head and won't leave until I've made it.

My background is graphic design, so even when the process is chaotic, the result tends to be bold and complete. A trained eye channeling a raw feeling.

Lately that urgency has a lot to do with my daughter. Watching her notice the world, the way she stops for a rainbow, stares at a flower, points at a bird, has completely changed what I want to paint.

I work big because my thoughts are big. I cut things apart, rearrange them, and trust whatever feels right before I can explain it. It's instinct, humour, and a bit of chaos, the good kind.
